Our Miami homestay student applicants attend the University of Miami- IEP, Florida International University (FIU), and Miami Dade (Wolfson and Kendall campuses).
IHPS also receives a good amount of intern applications for Miami homestays as well.
Most of our students and interns are typically placed within 5-7 miles of their campus or location of their internship. IHPS Homestays families have been with us for many years. Our host families are often located in Coral Gables, West Miami, University Park, Downtown, Kendall, and several other neighborhoods near to the schools we service.
Miami has a good public transportation system and an excellent trip planner for commutes to and from school and weekend excursions as well as your internship. Some of our interns tend to purchase cars for the convenience of getting to and from work.
IHPS offers airport “Meet and Greet” airport transfer service for students who fly into Miami International from their home country.
The weather is typically hot and humid in the summer, and also can very rainy and windy. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 62°F to 90°F and is rarely below 50°F or above 92°F.
