Ohlone College homestays students are placed in the city of Fremont, CA, which is a suburb of San Jose and located about 45 miles from the City of San Francisco. Fremont is often called one of the best places to live in California, and Ohlone College homestay students choose this area for its urban-suburban mix.

There are two campuses of Ohlone College, but most of our students will attend the Fremont campus located on Mission Blvd. Many of our students will be placed less than 5 miles from this campus if they apply early enough for homestay. The busiest intake of students for this school is fall.

Ohlone College homestay students typically use public transportation to get around. Students can find information about trip planning from the AC Transit website.

Our Ohlone College homestay students typically arrive at San Francisco Airport (SFO) from their home country. IHPS offers “Meet and Greet” homestay service pick up for students arriving at this airport. Our driver will greet you after you clear customs inside the international terminal.

In Fremont, the summers are long, warm, arid, and mostly clear and the winters are short, cold, wet, and partly cloudy. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 43°F to 82°F and is rarely below 35°F or above 92°F.

Many of our homestay students venture into “Frisco” to see the sights. IHPS wrote this artice for its San Fransisco international students. It contains information about things to do in “the City.” Check it out!
