San Francisco is a city that is easily accessible by public transportation, so no need to purchase a car. The majority of the students we place in homestay attend City College of SF, San Francisco State University, and Academy of Art University. We place several interns during the summer months as well.
Most of our San Francisco Homestays are very close to the schools we service. Students and Interns can get around very easily by using Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART). You will find their trip planner to be an excellent tool when planning your outing or mapping your way to school. San Francisco is a walkable city as well. You will find you are not too far “on foot” from any of the places may want to visit around town. If you are lucky enough to get to study in this beautiful city, you won’t be disappointed. There are lots of things to do in iconic San Francisco. We recently wrote an article for International students living in San Franciso. It has several interesting ideas on what students can do in the area during their free time. Check it out here.
This city’s main airport is San Francisco International (SFO), which is about 13 miles from downtown “Frisco”. In San Francisco, the summers are long, comfortable, arid, and mostly clear and the winters are short, cold, wet, and partly cloudy. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 45°F to 72°F and is rarely below 39°F or above 83°F.
